If you’ve ever been burned, scammed, or suspicious that something isn’t right, or perhaps you want to learn more about protecting yourself or a loved one, you’re in the right place.\n\nListen up folks, because what I’m about to tell you might save your digital bacon. You know that fancy password manager you’re using? Well, here’s the thing – it’s like having a state-of-the-art bank vault with a screen door for an entrance if your two-factor authentication isn’t set up right.\n\nMost people slap on SMS authentication and call it a day. That’s like putting a bike lock on Fort Knox – wicked shady, if you ask me. Here’s what the security pros do instead. First, ditch those text messages. Use an authenticator app or better yet, a hardware key. Second, enable biometric locks on your authenticator app itself. Third, set up backup codes and store them offline – not in your email, for crying out loud. Fourth, use a separate email just for your password manager that nobody knows about. And fifth, enable login notifications so you know if someone’s even sniffing around your vault.\n\nTakes ten minutes to set up, but it’s the difference between a welcome mat and a moat filled with digital alligators.\n\nThis is Steven Chayer with the DisputeVoice Podcast Show.
